Herpes Family Testing

Proprietary ELVIS® cells are engineered to allow rapid overnight detection of infectious HSV without a loss of sensitivity when compared to standard cell culture systems. This enhanced sensitivity allows reporting of negative cultures 7-10 days earlier than with conventional methods.

For rapid identification and typing of herpes simplex virus. The proprietary ELVIS system provides 17-hour turnaround time for reporting both positive and negative results in cell culture. Laboratories can choose between the ELVIS Identification system for detection of HSV-1 and HSV-2, or the ELVIS ID & Typing system for identification of HSV-1 and HSV-2 using Diagnostic Hybrids’ proprietary D3 fluorescent monoclonal antibodies.
